Garden View Bed and Breakfast

Thank you very much for your interest in the Garden View Bed and Breakfast. We are delighted to share our gracious, restored Victorian style home, complete with antiques and original art, with our guests. We are in a very quiet residential neighborhood, but we have the advantage of being close to downtown and most attractions. Located about a 10 minute walk from the citadel, add on another 5 minutes or so and you are at the Halifax waterfront.

The entire second floor is reserved for our guests. This includes our three lovely guest rooms, all with excellent beds and quality linens, and a cozy den with a desk and a window seat. The Rose and Arbor room guests have access to two shared bathrooms. On the second floor there is our new four piece bathroom, including a luxury air whirlpool massage tub. On the main floor there is another shared four piece bathroom with Jacuzzi tub.

The Garden Room has an ensuite four piece bath with an antique soaker tub. Garden Room guests can also enjoy a beautiful southern view of the garden, queen-sized bed, in- room TV and telephone and a gourmet breakfast for two for the cost of $75-120 (plus 13% HST).

Our gracious Rose and the Arbor rooms, have queen-sized beds and cost $65-100 (plus 13% HST) for two people, which includes a full gourmet breakfast. The Arbor Room is our most spacious room, furnished with an antique bureau and featuring a charming bay window, with a comfy queen-sized pull out sofa for relaxing or for an extra two guests. ($20 per extra bed or per extra person over age 5).

The Rose room provides a bright, south-west angular window, an antique cherry wood chest and a writing table for the working traveler. An antique, single spool bed serves as a day bed and sleeps an extra guest.($20 per extra bed or per extra person over age 5).

Breakfast is served on the main floor in our charming dinning room, which is adjoined by a sitting room with fireplace and cable TV with VCR. Guests are welcome to enjoy the peace and beauty of the garden or indulge in a ‘set ‘ on the porch. We don't mean to boast, but our guests do rave about our breakfasts, choices range from the traditional bacon and eggs (although with home made bread and natural smoked bacon), to our house specialty of crepes with fruit sauce or the famous "Paving Stone" (a crepe with ham, egg and cheese cooked inside), luscious and lite raisin apple bread pudding and the maritime vegetarian (wonderful home baked beans and brown bread). For an extra $10 you can enjoy the luxury of one our wonderful breakfasts served in your room.
